Campaign Raises over $10,000

June 1st, 2009

We’re pleased to announce that our campaign has reached a remarkable fundraising milestone of $10,000.  Although we are still a long way from our eventual goal of $50,000, we are more optimistic than ever about keeping this campaign going for a while yet and using it to spark discussion about belief and non-belief.

Thank you to everyone that has supported our campaign so far, and, as always, stay tuned for more later this week.

On an unrelated note: sometime in the next two weeks (probably on a lazy Saturday) we will be moving the site over to a new host that should better cope with traffic spikes; there may be a small amount of downtime, so we apologize in advance.

Any truth in the story that South Bend adverts have now been vetoed by the bus company?

The Indiana Atheist Bus campaign bus advertisement “You can be good without god” is featured on page 2 (inside the front cover) of the American Humanist Association newsletter! The cover story discusses the Indiana and Illinois campaigns in addition to the Idaho campaign that started in late March (see http://www.americanhumanist.org/news/details/2009-03-billboard-beckons-atheists-on-highway-95 ).

You have a link on your main top menu to atheism and you list Albert Einstein (who talked of the perfect God), Thomas Jefferson (who wrote is own Bible based on his strong believes) and The Dalai Lama (the most Holy man alive!) as examples of atheist?? What’s wrong with you people??

I am being frankly honest in that I cannot understand how one can really be an atheist. It seems to me that it would take a good deal more faith to believe you are the product of a millions of years and a series of many mutations in DNA and it the proteins produced from it. It really is easier to believe that there is something much bigger than us that is in control and is responsible for creation.

As a man of science AND a man of God, much like Einstein, the more a learn, the more I realize how real a Creator has to be.
